
Corn bread is always great with soups or chili and even for a yummy snack. Here is a super simple, sweet recipe that makes a delicious batch of corn bread in a snap, and without using a store bought box!
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Next, mix all of the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
After all the dry ingredients have been mixed together, mix in the egg, milk and oil.
After all of the ingredients have been mixed up well, pour the mixture into a greased 9×9 pan.
Bake the corn bread for 20-25 minutes, checking with a toothpick to see that it has cooked through. Once the corn bread is done baking, allow to cool. Then slice and serve!
Corn bread slices can easily be stored in the freezer in sealable plastic bags for homemade corn bread another night of the week!
